Why your vote matters
Voting for the ACCA Council Elections is ongoing until 3rd of November 2022 and it’s important to be reminded of why participating and voting is crucial.
Having acquired the ACCA membership is already a great accomplishment that grants you the right to have a say in the ACCA Global Council Elections and therefore -in the long run- in the decision-making process.
Not voting is essentially giving up your voice.
The greater the participation, the more likely the Council’s composition will represent the interests of the majority of the members’ base. Elected Council members can make a difference in the ACCA strategic decision-making processes by bringing their practical experience and innovative ideas while assisting in establishing a tight-knit community.
But what are Council’s main responsibilities?
- Ensure that ACCA operates in the public interest and delivers the objectives stated in its Royal Charter.
- Set the overall direction of ACCA through its contribution to the design of strategy with the Executive team and its overall approval of ACCA’s strategy.
- Act as ambassadors for ACCA and engage with ACCA members to explain and promote ACCA’s strategic direction.
- Provide an objective environment for the executive team to explore new ideas or challenges
So, ACCA’s future strategy depends on the results of the voting for Council members.
And you are just a click away from being part of the decision-making process.
If you are an ACCA member, lookup in your mailbox for an email from [email protected] and cast your vote here.
