Quantum is a leading accounting and IT company specializing in providing comprehensive solutions tailored to the diverse needs of small and medium-sized enterprises.
World Mental Health Day, observed on 10 October, is an opportunity to talk about mental wellbeing and challenge outdated stigma around seeking support. Quantum BITS spoke with Eirini Loli, founder of Santi Therapy, a centre offering counselling, mental-health support and complementary wellbeing services.
Loli describes mental health as part of overall wellbeing: it affects how we think, feel, act, manage stress and relate to other people. She notes that mental and physical wellbeing are connected, and that a person’s circumstances, relationships, experiences and health history can all play a role.
People may hesitate to speak with a psychologist or mental-health counsellor because they worry what others will think, feel they should manage alone, or are concerned about cost. Loli’s message is that support is not only for people in crisis. Many people seek guidance while navigating stress, grief, relationship difficulties, work problems or other challenging periods. Mental-health professionals may also seek support from colleagues.
Looking after mental wellbeing deserves the same openness as looking after physical health. Anyone concerned about their wellbeing should consider speaking with a qualified health professional.
Loli describes Santi Therapy as a centre for counselling, mental-health support and complementary approaches, with services intended to support people’s wellbeing and personal goals. Its offerings include counselling and coaching, yoga and Pilates, nutrition services, massage and other complementary practices. These services are not a substitute for diagnosis or treatment from an appropriately qualified medical professional.
